Tucked away on a 20-acre slice of Devon countryside, Nymetwood Treehouses is a family-run hideaway made for slow mornings, wide skies and deep exhales. With views across Dartmoor and only birdsong for company, this is a place to truly switch off.

Whether you’re here to roam the moors or soak in the stillness, our two luxury treehouses are rooted in comfort, calm and connection to the land. Built from sustainable timber and designed with care, each cabin brings together natural materials, soft textures and space to breathe.

Space to Breathe, Room to Roam

Our land is a wild mix of meadow, ancient woodland, orchard and stream. Deer wander through the trees. Owls call from the canopy. On clear nights, the stars stretch wide overhead. It’s proper peace — the kind that stays with you long after you’ve left.

We’re tucked in a valley, surrounded by rolling hills, with views that sweep across the Devon landscape. Dartmoor is just up the road, the coast within easy reach — but you might not want to leave your deck.

Made by Us, For You

We’re James and Cherie, and we live just across the way in a 200-year-old farmhouse with our two kids, a black Labrador, and a flock of unruly chickens. Nymetwood was born from a shared love of simple living, good design, and the idea that you don’t have to travel far to truly get away.

Together with local craftsmen — including the brilliant timber framers Emmanuel Hendry — we’ve built two Scandi-inspired treehouses from locally sourced, sustainable wood. Every choice has been made with intention: low-impact materials, thoughtful interiors, and a commitment to supporting Devon’s independent makers and trades

Sustainable at Heart

Caring for the land is a big part of what we do. We’ve planted hundreds of native trees and hedgerows, restored wildflower meadows, and created habitats to support birds, bees, butterflies and beyond. Inside the treehouses, you’ll find organic toiletries, low-tox cleaning products, and a welcome hamper full of locally sourced basics (yes, there are marshmallows).
