Frequently Asked Questions

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW

Staying at Nymetwood Treehouses? Here’s everything you might want to know before you arrive — from what’s in your treehouse to how to get here.
Still stuck? Drop us a line at hello@nymetwoodtreehouses.co.uk and we’ll happily help.

Can I bring my dog?

As much as we love dogs (we have one ourselves!), we can’t accommodate them due to the surrounding wildlife and nearby livestock.

Do you have a hot tub?

Yes! Starling Spa Treehouse comes with a private hot tub tucked among the trees, plus a sauna and outdoor shower. Blackcap Treehouse still features the iconic copper bath on the balcony, big enough for two.

Are there fire pits?

Yes! Every treehouse has its own private firepit area. We provide logs, firelighters, kindling — and marshmallows for toasting.

Where exactly are you?

We’re in a peaceful part of Mid Devon, just north of Dartmoor National Park. It’s properly rural here – fields, forests and no neighbours.

Are the treehouses heated?

Yes, they’re toasty year-round. There’s a woodburner in each treehouse, extra heating if needed, thick duvets and lots of blankets (but trust us, you wont need them!)

What are the bathroom facilities like?

Each treehouse has a full bathroom with a rainforest shower, flushing toilet, organic toiletries, and a copper outdoor bath for forest stargazing. Starling Spa Treehouse also includes an outdoor shower, hot tub and sauna.

What’s in the kitchen?

Everything you need for easy self-catering: oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, utensils and crockery. We also provide oil, salt, pepper, tea and coffee.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Each treehouse has a super king size bed for the adults to stretch out and relax in and a snug bunk room for up to two little people. Children’s games are provided. The site has open woodland and meadow to explore, perfect for young adventurers. Please note the main bed is on a mezzanine and the site terrain is natural and uneven, so it’s worth bearing in mind for very young children.

Can I get to Nymetwood by public transport?

The nearest train station is Yeoford, which is four miles away. However, taxis would need to be arranged in advance as due to our rural location there aren’t many around. We’re happy to share information on local taxi and transport options, just ask when you book.

Is Nymetwood environmentally friendly?

We try really hard to tread lightly. We run on renewable energy, provide EV charging, use organic products, compost food waste and recycle everything we can. The 20-acre site is actively managed for wildlife – with native tree planting, wildflower meadows, a beehive and undisturbed wet woodland. We source locally wherever possible and encourage guests to explore and support the wider Devon community during their stay.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes – full fibre broadband in each treehouse. But it’s also the perfect spot to log off and slow down.

Can I book just one night?

Sorry, no. We offer 2-night stays midweek and 3-night weekends. Changeover days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

How far is parking from the treehouses?

Right outside. No lugging bags through the woods — just a few steps from your car to the door.

Do you have EV charging on site?

Yes – each treehouse has its own EV charger in the parking area.

Can I arrive/depart when it’s dark?

Of course. Self check-in means you can arrive when it suits you. The path to the treehouse is lit by motion sensor lights..

Can you cater for dietary requirements in the welcome hamper?

Yes – just let us know when booking or in advance of your stay. We regularly accommodate vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs and will do our best to make sure your welcome hamper works for you.

Do you offer hypoallergenic bedding?

Yes, we can provide hypoallergenic bedding on request. We can also remove sheepskin throws and certain soft furnishings if you have allergies, just let us know before you arrive.

Is Nymetwood suitable for guests with mobility difficulties?

The treehouses are accessed via a bridge at ground level, so arrival is step-free. However, the main bedroom in both treehouses is on a mezzanine level with a staircase, which may not suit guests with limited mobility. The ground floor bathroom is accessible without steps. The site terrain is natural and uneven in places. We’d always recommend getting in touch before booking so we can help you decide if it’s the right fit.

What do you supply?

We’ve got the essentials covered:
– All linen and towels
– Shampoo, conditioner & body wash
– Firewood, kindling & firelighters
– Olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar
– Tea, ground coffee & cafetière
– A few welcome basics (think: bread, eggs, butter, milk).

Are there ever hunting or shooting days nearby

No local hunts, but you may hear pheasant shoots occasionally in winter (October to January). If this would affect your stay, we suggest booking outside those months.

What do you supply?

All bed linen & towels, shampoo, body wash & conditioner, starter logs, kindling & firelighters for the log-burner and olive oil, salt/pepper, sugar. We also supply ground coffee & tea bags.

What should I bring?

If you’re planning Dartmoor adventures, bring wellies and waterproofs — Devon can be wild. We also recommend arriving with your first night’s food.

What time is check- in and out?

Check out is 11am and check in is from 4pm. Change over days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

When do I get arrival info?

We’ll email you everything ten days before your stay — including directions and how to get in. But of course please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, we’re always happy to help.
