FAQ’s

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW

Understandably we get quite a few questions from people looking to stay at Nymetwood Treehouses.

To help you make the most of your stay with us we’ve pulled together a list of the most frequently asked questions below.

If there’s anything else you need help with please email us at hello@nymetwoodtreehouses.com

Can I bring my dog?

We are dog owners and lovers ourselves, but can’t accommodate guest’s dogs due to the wildlife in the woods and livestock in surrounding fields.

Do you have a hot tub?

There are huge copper baths on the balcony, which are big enough for two if you are willing to share!

Are there fire pits?

Yes, each treehouse has its own fire pit area nearby. We provide wood for both the outdoor fire and the wood burners in the treehouses. We also provide marshmallows for toasting!

What is the location like?

We are located in a peaceful and very rural part of mid-Devon, just north of Dartmoor National Park. We are surrounded by farmland on all sides

Are the treehouses heated?

Yes- the treehouses are really snug. Each cabin has a woodburner to keep you cosy on cold evenings as well as separate heating if needed. We also provide winter duvets and plenty of blankets.

What are the toilet & washing facilities?

Each treehouse comes with a fully fitted bathroom, with rainforest shower,  fully flushing toilet, towels and toiletries (just please don’t flush any nasties). There is also a copper bath on the balcony, should you fancy an outdoor soak.

What are the kitchen facilities?

Each treehouse has a fully fitted kitchen, with everything you could need for a self-catered break, including oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher and basics such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper and oil.

Can I bring my kids?

Each treehouse has a super king size bed for the adults to stretch out and relax in. We don’t currently take children, but are looking at options to accomodate kids from next year.

Do I need a car to get there?

The nearest train station is Yeoford, which is four miles away. However, taxis would need to be arranged in advance as due to our rural location there aren’t many around. There are local taxi companies in nearby Crediton.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

While we’d encourage you to switch off and unwind, for those who need it full fibre broadband is available in the treehouses.

Can I stay for just one night?

Sadly not. We have three change-over days, on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. There is a minimum two nights in the week and three nights over the weekend.

How far is it from the car park to the treehouses?

Each treehouse has a parking area right outside.

Do you have EV charging on site?

Yes each treehouse has a dedicated EV charger in the parking area.

Can I arrive/depart when it’s dark?

Yes, please take advantage of our self check-in process and arrive whenever suits you. We’ll liaise with you ahead of your stay to make sure there is a key waiting for you on arrival. If you do arrive at night, the parking area, path and bridge to the treehouse is lit with motion sensor lights right to the front door.

What do you supply?

We have the essentials covered. All bed linen, towels, and toiletries are provided, as well as a kitchen with the cookware you need to create a decent meal. We also provide basics such as salt, pepper, sugar, oil and tea and coffee. There’s also a woodburner with a basket of starter logs, kindling & firelighters.

What is your cancellation policy?

If we have to close due to another hospitality/accommodation lockdown we will move your booking for the same price & with no admin fee.

If you are unable to come (but we are open) for any reason we will try and resell your booking and if successful we will refund what has been paid. We strongly advise that you take out cancellation insurance to cover cancellation due to circumstances outside of our or your control in case we are unable to re-sell your booking.

Are there ever hunting or shooting activities nearby?

While there are no local hunts, there are occasional pheasant shoots in the surrounding countryside and it is possible you could hear the gunshots. Although these days are infrequent, if this is an issue for you please only book outside the pheasant shooting season (Oct 1st- Jan 31st)

What do you supply?

All bed linen & towels, shampoo, body wash & conditioner, starter logs, kindling & firelighters for the log-burner and olive oil, salt/pepper, sugar. We also supply ground coffee & tea bags.

What do I need to bring?

Mid-Devon can be quite wet in the winter, so a pair of wellies and waterproof clothes are essential if exploring nearby Dartmoor. We are also very rural so it’s certainly worth bringing at least the first night’s food and drink with you.

What time is check- in and out?

Check out is 11am and check in is from 4pm. Change over days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

What information do I need before heading off?

We will send you an email a week before your stay with all the details you need, including our contact numbers.
